General Bachelor's Admission Criteria
Kigali Independent University (ULK) admits candidates holding an accredited secondary certificate or certified foreign equivalent adhering to national HEC standards:
- Completion of Upper Secondary School (Senior 6) with Advanced Level Certificate complying with Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) and Higher Education Council (HEC) admission standards.
- Notified/certified photocopy of Advanced Level Secondary School Certificate and complete progressive academic reports (S4, S5, S6).
- Four (4) recent passport-size color photographs and a certified copy of National Identity Card (Rwandans) or valid International Passport (international applicants).
- Duly completed ULK application/registration form and evidence of non-refundable registration fee payment.
- Demonstrated English language proficiency (Francophone students may enroll in the Gisenyi Campus Intensive English Bridging Program prior to academic matriculation).

The primary administrative and academic headquarters of ULK. Features multi-story lecture amphitheaters, dedicated moot court rooms, a 400-computer digital library, state-of-the-art software and CISCO networking labs, the ULK Polytechnic Institute workshops, and a multi-purpose sports stadium.
Gisenyi Campus (Rubavu)
Established in December 2002 to decentralize higher education to the Western Province and serve as an educational conduit for the Economic Community of the Great Lakes Countries (CEPGL). Strategically located near Goma (DRC), offering on-campus student hostels and intensive English bridging programs with ~30% lower tuition.
